When it was announced that the Duchess of Cornwall was to arrive for her visit, a wave of apprehension and nerves had washed over me. I had felt extremely miniscule upon hearing that a literal figure of royalty, elegance and grace, Her Royal Highness, would be speaking to me.

When I first found out that I had won a Gold award for my essay for the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition, I was in a little disbelief but I was thrilled at the same time. Then my disbelief turned into shock and excitement when I found out that the Duchess of Cornwall was coming to our college.

We are deeply honoured to be given the privilege to meet and host HRH. During the visit, HRH met with our various winners and participants of the Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition, and learnt more about our College's literacy programme.

Mr Jared Wong is a lively tutor in the Geography department in Temasek Junior College. He is well-known for his passionate and fun ideas that never fail to enlighten and amuse us. He has been teaching for 5 years and is also an alumnus of our school. He was previously part of the TJChoir and it is only fitting that he is now a tutor-in-charge of the choir!

In commemoration of our 40th anniversary, the Temasek Distinguished Speaker Series was held in the auditorium of Temasek Junior College. We were honoured to have Mr Ho Kwon Ping as the speaker at this event. Mr Ho is one of Singapore's most prominent businessmen. He is the Executive Chairman of Banyan Tree Holdings

The Temasek Junior College Integrated Programme (IP) Open House was held on Saturday, May 27 2017, in which the IP students worked with teachers to make the Open House a success. A plethora of exhibits and booths were set up, along with stunning performances by the Performing Arts Personal Development Programmes (PDPs) as well as talks by our Principal and Dean.

Friday evenings are often a time of relaxation and recreation with many spending it going out and having fun. On the evening of the 12th of May, hundreds decided to spend their Friday evening attending a very special event - the TJC Symphonic Bands’ much awaited annual concert, Prelude 37, held at Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall.
